Bluecadet Interactive

Herbert L. Block, famously known as Herblock, is generally considered one of the greatest and most influential political cartoonists of all time. His work, which is visually light and adept, takes head on some of the most contentious issues of his and our times.

The Herblock Foundation approached Bluecadet to produce a site to promote their traveling exhibition. The exhibition presents Herblock’s efforts to preserve American’s rights and freedoms through his political cartoons. The core of this exhibition was comprised of four giant double sided panels. To demonstrate the craft and impact of these panels, we recreated the panels in a 3D program and built a rich interactive that allows the user to explore these panels in depth. We also developed an interactive timeline as well as an administrative tool that the Foundation could use to organize and promote their exhibition schedule.
